The Big Gay Met Tour Just Got Bigger (And Gayer)

Museum Hack, the premier non-traditional museum tour company, expands its Big Gay Met tours

In advance of NYC’s Pride Weekend (June 24th – 26th 2016), Museum Hack has announced an expansion of their increasingly popular Big Gay Met tours.  The new schedule features four fabulous tour guides to choose from, Ethan, Lily, Harry & Mindy with eight dates in June, four of which are during Pride Weekend. Big Gay Met tours for April & May have additional dates as well, tickets are on sale now.  Guests can also book private Big Gay Met tours for fantastic birthdays and exceptional bachelor & bachelorette parties.

Ethan Angelica, creator of the Big Gay Met tour states, “last year we saw a substantial demand for more of our alternative museum tours. I’m proud of the positive reception that Big Gay Met received, a mission-based tour that showcases  gay culture across time and geography. Guests are appreciative of our mission, which led to special requests for private tours. We heard our community and want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to enjoy gay history at one of the most iconic museums in the world.“

Museum Hack is an unconventional tour company that produces tours at the world’s best museums. The Big Gay Met tour is a whirlwind romp through the sometimes strange, sometimes secret, always awesome, queer history hiding in plain sight at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Museum Hack has compiled the greatest stories of the greatest pieces of LGBTQ art available at the Met, spanning ancient times to modern day.  This fabulous tour is neither associated with nor endorsed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Alan A. wrote on coursehorse.com about his experience on the Big Gay Met tour, “This was a great chance to see the Gay Treasures of the Met, to which I hadn't really paid much attention in the past. I now have a much deeper understanding of the works and the artists, as well as the times in which these works were produced. A perfect example of this is Jasper Johns' "White Flag"; I did not know that this was a backlash against the way that society treated gays in the 1950s. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, gay or straight.”

About Museum Hack: Museum Hack provides renegade museum tours that eliminate museum fatigue, (when visitors get tired and bored while visiting museums). Founded in 2013 by CEO Nick Gray; Museum Hack currently offers fun and engaging tours in New York City, San Francisco and Washington D.C.
